宋子峰是望江楼的老板，他有一道拿手菜叫红烧脆皮蹄髈，那可是天下一绝。痛惜一场突如其来的大火，将望江楼烧成了灰烬。宋子峰眼见多年心血冰消瓦解，撑不住想到了死。

这天晚上，宋子峰赶来河边，纵身就往河里跳，意外被人拉住了裤带。他扭头一看，却丢掉身形，不由得大为惊奇。只听一个声音说道：“我是馋鬼。你在跳河之前，先给我做道红烧脆皮蹄髈吧。你死了，我可就再也吃不到了。”

宋子峰有点进退两难，他心一软，点点头应道：“好吧，那我给你做完了再跳。可这深更夜分的，到哪儿去找英才和器具呢？”
